Export Registration Certificate

Export Registration Certificate is required for starting export business in Bangladesh.  This certificate is issue by CCI&E and they also issue Import Registration Certificate and Indenting Registration Certificate.

How to collect Export Registration Certificate?

For collecting Export Registration Certificate following document should be furnished with the application form to CCI&E (Office of the Chief Controller of Imports & Exports):

  • Apply in a Prescribed Form
  • Copy of Trade License
  • Proprietor’s Photographs (for Sole Proprietorship Business)
  • Managing Director’s Photographs (for Limited Company)
  • All Partners’ Photographs (for Limited Company)
  • Proprietor’s NID (for Sole Proprietorship Business)
  • Managing Director’s NID (for Limited Company)
  • All Partners’ NID (for Partnership Firm)
  • TIN Certificate
  • Incorporation Certificate (for Limited Company)
  • Memorandum of Association & Articles of Association (for Limited Company)
  • Bank Solvency Certificate
  • Partnership Deed (for Partnership Firm)
  • Membership Certificate of respective Trade Organization
  • Treasury Chalan main copy

Fees of Export Registration Certificate:

Govt. fees for Export Registration Certificate is Tk- 7,000/- (Seven Thousand) and Tk- 1,000/- ( One Thousand) for Pass Book.  In addition 15% VAT ( Value Added Tax  Tk-8000/- * 15%= tk-1200/-) Tk-1200/-  should be paid with Govt. fees. I.e. Total taka 9,200/-  (7000/- + 1000/- + 1200/-) should pay to Somali Bank any branch in Bangladesh.

Renewal Fees of Export Registration Certificate:

Renewal fees for Export Registration Certificate are Tk- 5,000/- (Five Thousand).  In addition 15% VAT ( Value Added Tax  Tk-5,000/- * 15%= tk-750/-) Tk-750/-  should be paid with Govt. fees. I.e. Total taka 5,750/-  (5,000/- + 750/-) should pay to Somali Bank any branch in Bangladesh. Renewal fees should pay within 30th September each year. If fail to pay renewal fees within the stipulated time then should pay penalty tk-500/-  in addition.

How to start Export Business in Bangladesh?

If you start business alone then at first collect a Trade License from respective authority for Sole Proprietorship Business.  After that open a Bank Account, collect TIN Certificate, Export Registration Certificate and VAT Registration Certificate. If you want to start business with two or more persons then you have many options, those are limited company,  partnership firm, joint venture company, whichever is better for you.  If Limited Company at first register a Company in Bangladesh. After registration collect Trade License of the Company, TIN Certificate, Open Bank Account, collect Export Registration Certificate and VAT Registration Certificate. For partnership business register Partnership Firm from RJSC.  After registration collect Trade License of the Partnership Firm, TIN Certificate, Open Bank Account, collect Export Registration Certificate and VAT Registration Certificate.  And now you can start your dream ‘EXPORT BUSINESS”.
